Intuitive Eating

It’s not about the food you eat, rather, how you feel about it.

What is Intuitive Eating?

Our unique approach to intuitive eating integrates instinct, emotion and thought by helping you live in alignment with your core values, challenge your limiting beliefs and face your food fears.

The EHL mission is to help clients break free from dieting for good. Science has proven that restrictive dieting and calorie counting overwhelmingly leads to negative results.

The majority of chronic dieters report feelings of shame, guilt, anxiety and low self-esteem when it comes to their eating habits and body image. 95% of diets result in weight regain, with 2/3 of dieters gaining more weight than they lost. Through this cycle of dieting our bodies are unable to find their natural place of rest, known as the set-point. Quite simply, dieting does not work.

This is where intuitive eating and The EHL Method comes in. Learn how to eat without guilt, foster body respect and never diet again.

There are ten key principles of intuitive eating which pave the way to finding food freedom.

Principle 1: Reject the Diet Mentality
Free yourself from the constraints of modern diet culture and shift your mindset towards food freedom. Say no to the burden of weight loss culture and own the skin you're in.
Principle 2: Honour Your Hunger
Learn to recognise your own hunger cues and nourish your body accordingly. Build self awareness to avoid excessive hunger which often leads to overeating. Rebuild trust in yourself and in food.
Principle 4: Challenge the Food Police
Silence the inner critic that monitors the unreasonable rules that diet culture has created. Break free from the cycle of negative thoughts surrounding your food choices and embrace food freedom.
Principle 7: Cope with Your Emotions with Kindness
Find kind ways to comfort, nurture, address and resolve your physical and emotional issues. Recognizing that food won’t fix any of these issues will prevent emotional eating. Be kind and compassionate to yourself.
Principle 9: Movement—Feel the Difference
Shift your focus to how it feels to move your body, rather than the calorie-burning effect of exercise. Embrace and enjoy movement by finding what works best for you and your lifestyle.
Principle 10: Honour Your Health with Gentle Nutrition
Make food choices that honour your health and hunger whilst still making you feel good. Remember that you don’t have to eat perfectly to be healthy. Progress, not perfection, is what counts.
